I have been looking for an exhaust to replace a rust-happy original. It had to be in tune with the style, characterful but not loud enough to infuriate the neighbours. After all, it is not a hooligan's bike. Eventually zoomed in on this RS Gear Wyvern Classic and took the plunge. Now, W800 sounds good from stock, but this one just makes it better. A tiny bit more fruty, and a few burps and bangs on closed throttle - rather glorious. It is clearly lighter, too, but being this low down, did not make any difference in handling. I did not experience any drop in torque, so could have left it there. However, I decided to put it on a dyno which showed a maximum of 43bhp at the wheel. It was running lean until 3,500 RPM and then suddenly very rich. After fitting a power commander and a lambda bypass, back on the dyno for tuning. Result - 47 bhp, see the dyno chart I have attached. It is also very, very smooth. Those vibrations at the top end are noticeably lower and bike feels more keen. Overall, I am very, very happy with the upgrade. This is a truly excellent exhaust which you can use out of the box or go an extra mile and open up a bit more power, you can do that, too.
