Air Filter Round Taper Type from K&N

This Speed Triple came in for a service which included air filter, oil filter and oil change. I decided to go for the K&N filter over the OEM one because you also have the ability to wash, re-oil and re-use these filters. I have never found them to be anything less than the quality of the standard OEM filters and do not have any less performance. As I said, these are reusable if you do it all correctly. This is replacing the OEM Triumph one which came on the bike when the customer dropped it off. By the looks of it, it has not been changed for a while. I despair how some people manage to run bikes without the slightest notion of maintenance. Finding the correct filter for this bike was easy too, I checked on Webike website and this showed the models that fit each filter. Really easy. I had other items in my order and this then cut down the shipping over the entire order. I use EMS fast service which arrived at my door in 5 days. All the items were packaged really well and bubble wrap and air pockets were used to fill any space in the box. Webike even tape the outer box on all sides so nothing can get in or out. The filter arrived in perfect condition and did come pre-oiled which is also nice so you do not have to mess around the first time. Fitted in about half an hour total. The final result was perfect. A one off purchase for an air filter that wil last the life of the motorcycle, during my ownership anyway.Products to buy together - Another product to purchase when looking to further increase the performance on the Grom would be a lightweight flywheel, which allows for an increased throttle response.Difficulty of installation - The installation of the round taper type air filter is a simple task that took 0.7 of an hour complete. Some mechanical aptitude and the use of basic hand tools is what is required to gain aceess, remove the original air intake and secure the round taper type air filter to the new larger inlet tube.Cost performance and comparison with other products - I find the cost of all the products K&N sell to be high when compared to what most other companies sell their products for and the round taper type air filter is no different.About shipping and packaging - With there being no cost difference between sea freight and EMS for the round taper type air filter, I chose EMS for an earlier arrive date. * About quality and texture, The cylinder head gasket is made from steel, has great in service life and only required replacement while refreshing the top end.* About the feeling of use, Perfect fit with all the required cutouts aligning correctly and zero leaks after assembly.* Products to buy together, A new cylinder base gasket will also need to be purchase along with the cylinder head gasket when assembling the top end.* Difficulty of installation, The installation requires the head to be removed which involves rotating the engine to TDC, removing the cam sprocket and chain then undoing the four head nuts. Reverse the process for installation and torque the head nuts down in a criss cross pattern. Perfect Honda fit and finish.* Products to buy together, Due to the mishap I was also needing a new turn signal lens.* Difficulty of installation, The installation requires the removal of one screw from the inner lower corner of the turn signal and pull the lens out from that corner the turn the turn signal bulb counter clockwise to release it from the fitting. The process was completed in 40 minutes with no difficultly.* Cost performance and comparison with other products, A very reasonable prices rear shock absorber and a great product with it's good looks and performance which are well above the Honda OEM one.
